Faith Group Leader Weekend – Taking the next step
February 14, 2020 - February 16, 2020
Are you running Alpha, Lent and Advent Courses, Prayer or Bible study groups or any other faith group with adults?
Or would you like to get these groups started in your parish?
Take the next step by booking a place on our Faith Group Leader Weekend. This is a fantastic training/retreat weekend for all involved in this kind of ministry with adults. Over excellent input, faith sharing and practical exercises (and a lot of laughter) we will cover:
- What is faith, and how do we share it?
- Small group skills – how to get everyone talking, tricky situations etc
- How to lead prayer
- How to choose the right course for your parish
- How to get volunteers and build a team of helpers
- Shared prayer time and reflection with like-minded people
We hold this weekend at the lovely Kings Park Centre in Northampton, with the food a particular highlight! We will also have times of prayer and contemplation throughout the weekend, and finish with Mass on the Sunday.
The course is subsidised by the Together in Faith Fund and costs £110. We would encourage parishes to help with the costs of this weekend to help grow the skills of their fantastic volunteers.
It was a very good weekend and definitely met my expectations and beyond. I could very much identify with the key points discussed from teaching to “conversation” and its importance for an adult’s journey of faith. I am very pleased I attended as I feel I will certainly take a lot away from this and am happy to have received some formal training I can draw upon to lead small groups in a faith and parish setting. It was good also as a leader have some reflection time ourselves to recharge and experience the various reflection stations laid out.
I found the size of the group ideal: small enough for us all to gel as a group, but big enough for many different points of view. And such a lovely bunch of people.
The weekend exceeded my expectations in terms of learning, spiritual uplift and challenge. It exceeded my expectation in terms of the delegates – their openness and friendliness. It exceeded my expectation in terms of worship and a lovely priest present and Mass.
